The Gilera Nexus 300 brings sporting flair to the middleweight
scooter class. Its modern, high performance engine boasts

The Gilera Nexus has revolutionised the world of scooters. The
Nexus is a maxi that combines all the power of a single
cylinder, fuel injected engine of the latest generation with a
top class chassis. In fact, the Nexus is really in a class of
its own, ideal for everyday commuting, but capable of delivering
real riding satisfaction.
When the road takes you out of town, the qualities of the Nexus
300’s chassis reveal themselves to bring you an exciting ride
that no other scooter can rival. Especially on high speed,
winding roads, the smooth, progressive power of the new 300 cc
engine, assisted by a precision frame and top quality chassis,
gives you the sort of sensations normally only found on a
performance motorcycle.
ENGINE.
The Nexus 300 introduces all the sporting vitality of the Nexus
family into the middleweight scooter category. The Quasar 4
valve engine features liquid cooling and electronic fuel
injection and develops a max torque of 23 Nm at the
significantly low speed of 6000 rpm.
The result is smoother power, more decisive acceleration and a
fuller response to the throttle. So whether you are riding
around town, from one set of traffic lights to the next, or out
for a weekend trip or long journey, the Gilera Nexus 300 has all
the multifunctional flair you need, and combines the
practicality of an urban commuter with the excitement and
sparkle of a true sports scooter.
DESIGN. ITALIAN SPORTS PERFORMANCE.
The design of Gilera Nexus 300 combines top protection with
typically Italian sports performance. The Nexus 300’s modern
lines focus on the front of the scooter to create a dynamic,
sporty look while the slender, agile tail conveys a clear
impression of the Nexus’ exuberant nature. The headlight cluster
maintains the Gilera family look and gives the
Nexus 300 a particularly penetrating profile. The dashboard
incorporates analog and digital instruments with elegant red
backlighting. On top of the generous front shield, the
windshield can be adjusted in height to guarantee unrivalled
comfort in all weather.
The seat has been designed using new materials for greater
comfort and a perfectly ergonomic sitting position. A
broad and comfortable platform allows you to adopt three
different riding postures and remain relaxed at all times. The
passenger also has two generously sized fold-away footrests. The
34 litre under-seat storage compartment is big enough to hold
two helmets (one full-face and one semi-jet), confirming the
rational design of the Nexus 300. Because though conceived to
delivery maximum riding thrills, the Gilera Nexus never forgets
that it also excels as an urban scooter.
PERFORMANCE CHASSIS.
The Nexus 300 uses the same frame as the powerful 500 cc
version, made entirely from high strength tubular steel. Rear
suspension comes in the form of two robust and dependable shock
absorbers with three spring preload settings for optimum damping
and control.
At the front the Nexus 300 is equipped with a hydraulic
telescopic fork with 35 mm stanchions. The braking system
features a 260 mm disc and a two-piston floating caliper at the
front and a 240 mm disc with a two-piston floating caliper at
the rear. The front wheel, 15” in diameter, is equipped
with a 120/70 tyre. The 14” rear wheel boasts a sporty, large
section 140/60 tyre. |
