I saw a red Taxi coming out from my right hand side from On Ping Street crossing me to the gas station.

I was afraid that we would hit so I held my hand brake tightly. I must admit that I did not use my foot brake because my foot was not on the brake.  I was using my 4th gear and my speed was about 40 km/h when I braked my Honda which was immediately stopped and slipped on the road.  The taxi driver drove his taxi away as there was no collision.

人命財物傷亡損毀:
My hand and knee were injured and my "new" Honda was damaged. Later I spent 4000 dollars to replace my odometer.

當時感受:
I could not blame anyone but myself. Why didn't I use my foot brake? Why couldn't I drive slowly? Why didn't I go by bus? Why? Why? Why?

事後影響:
My wife and daughters insist me to sell my Honda. I am pulled by two forces: my love in my Honda and my family's worries.

肇事原因及教訓啟示:
(1) Slow down at road juctions.
(2) Drive slowly on wet road surface.
(3) Always put the right foot above the foot brake.
